General News From The North West Bali Front, 10th October 2008
No big events. We officially became PT. Sea Rovers, as our licenses continues its meandering pace through the bureaucracy that constitutes any governments processes.
Mucky Pirates Bay, continues to show us its wonders (see Captain's Blog for latest photos). With the recent finding of Mandarinfish on the opposite side, this just adds more for us to show you.
Yellow Pygmy seahorses on Napoleon Reef an added attraction.
And after running for a couple of months now, we can now refine trip times for Menjangan to 20-30 mins at touring speed. Imaging how long it'd take if we really let rip. So the 'Vicious Guppy' lives up to her name. Garr!!!
Following trends in marketing we can officially declare ourselves an Eco-Friendly Dive Centre, we recycle our air 100%.

Sea Rovers receive Certificate of Recognition, 17th July 2008
Today- a day of presentations as Captain & Crew of Sea Rovers Dive Centre receive recognition from the Commander in Chief of Bali, for our sterling efforts on the 13th.
We haven't been open more than five minutes and they're already giving us medals. Damn me eyes but we're good.
!
Double Grog rations all round! |

Pirates to the Rescue! 13th July 2008
Sea Rovers Dive Centre, first on scene to assist RI Army with a training exercise gone wrong due to strong offshore winds.
A regular exercise for the local army base took a turn for the worst as the trainees out on 5mtr zodiacs were paddling along the coast and got caught out in open water. Things started going wrong as soon as they left the shelter of the mountains as seasonal winds blew the zodiacs out to sea
The Sea Rovers Dive Crew aboard "The Vicious Guppy" were the happy to give assistance.
Job well done guys! |
Dive Centre is one step away from 100% operational, 11th July 2008
Though limited on space till the hotel general manager moves out of our equipment room, we have got organised and are ready to take customers.
Just need the damned compressor to arrive (hopefully tomorrow) then we'll be really diving. |
Sea Rovers Partners, We have an Accord! June 2008
The partners meet to sign the first of many pieces of paper that make up the endless bureaucracy that is a foreign investment company.
Left to Right; Director Paul, Komisaris Ditta, President Director Kerry.
Time for a double Rum ration to celebrate!

Testing the boat, Nice day for a dive. June 2008
Captain, Commodore and crew take the "Vicious Guppy" out for a test run.
Well what's the point in owning a dive centre if you can't go diving and play with your own boat? |
Bringing our boat up and round from Sanur 08-05-08

And thus we start myself and Tony, our boat builder and rep for Bali Mercury Outboards, plus Evinrude dealer. Cheers Tony for a great little boat and cool engines. |

Tony's staff praying for a safe journey? |

Calm start...... |
Shipmate Mike along for the ride enjoying the spray as we come past the islands at Padangbai. |

Things get interesting and a bit wet as we come round Karangasam. Converging currents and standing waves not withstanding. She took it all in her stride, with minimum fuss. |
So it was that we cruised up the east coast of Bali, through the chop and waves then round to Amed and Tulamben where we breaked at Scuba Seraya and met up and enjoyed a juice with owner Patrick Schwarz. From there it was plain sailing to her new home in Pemuteran. In total 5 hours of cruising fun. | |

And so it begins (01-05-08)
New staff got a workout today as the owner invited friends and business associates to visit Adi Assri Cottages for a site inspection.
Free tastings from the hotel restaurant went down equally well I might add :-)
Construction also starts on the Beachfront pool.
May the Gods smile fortune upon us and our venues (20-04-08)
On the 'Island of the Gods' Ceremony is at the heart of almost everything, theres a good day to be born, a good day to die and a good day to bless new businesses and cleanse them of evil spirits.
An important day for all involved; left to right - Wawan Ode (General Manager), Dwi Ardika & Komang Sumantri (Son & Owner), Paul M Turley (our very own Captain Paul) and his son Rhade (Mini Captain, Centre)
